So moving day went pretty well. We got everything in the house we needed, and we got everything else in the storage unit with room to spare, that was a pleasant surprise. We were both very sore the next day and the day after that, just trying to unpack and find places for everything. We also packed up several bags and boxes of stuff for good will to make room for the rest of our belongings that we are going to need to find space for. Combining the contents of two houses into one is going to prove quite challenging.
So after 7 years of going back and forth between Galena and Elgin, IL we have decided to take the plunge, sell the Elgin house and move to Galena full time.
Today we pickup the U-Haul and take out the first load of stuff, trying to empty out the Elgin house for staging.
Today is sure to be a busy day. We have all of the boxes stacked in the garage ready to load the truck. The piano is sitting in the front haul. Moving the piano always makes me wonder why I keep it since I don’t really play any more. I have to back the truck up onto the newly seeded front lawn (I wasn’t thinking about moving the piano when we seeded the front yard) so that the ramp will reach the front porch and we can just roll the piano in, its the only way to move it.
Well got to go pick up our truck now, more later.
